Overview

DC motors, series 5, 6 and 7

DC motors, series 5, 6 and 7 have a reputation worldwide for being reliable, rugged and compact (low envelope dimensions). Their range of power ratings extends up to 1,610 kW - with torques up to 44,500 Nm. They distinguish themselves as a result of the low shaft heights with high torques. Specifically coordinated brush materials also reduce the brush wear and in turn lower maintenance costs. Vibration and torque ripple are reduced to a minimum. The high smooth running properties extend the motor lifetime and ensure quiet operation. Together with Siemens drive converters, series 5, 6 and 7 DC motors form an ideal team. As a result of their rugged design, they are suitable both for use in dry indoor areas as well as outdoors.
